Demonstrating its commitment to advancing globally competitive research, the Research Management Office (RMO) of Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) continues to strengthen its research culture as faculty members participated in the 11th RMO Mentoring Session conducted via the Zoom platform, with Sessions 1–4 held on March 31 and Session 5 on April 1, 2026.
The mentoring activity featured a comprehensive review of 56 faculty research papers, consisting of 21 completed studies and 35 research proposals. These works were meticulously evaluated by a panel of renowned experts across five specialized sessions:
- Session 1 (Education Cluster 1): Mentored by Dr. Joel M. Torres, Professor at Central Luzon State University
- Session 2 (Psychology, GAD, and Culture): Mentored by Dr. Carlos N. Buan, Vice President of the Psychological Association of the Philippines
- Session 3 (Business and Management): Mentored by Dr. John Vianne B. Murcia, Vice President for Research Development and Publication at Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc.
- Session 4 (Science, Engineering, and Technology): Mentored by Dr. Edison A. Roxas, Professor at the University of Santo Tomas
- Session 5 (Education Cluster 2): Mentored by Dr. Ryan Michael F. Oducado, Research Director of West Visayas State University.
Organized by the RMO, headed by Dr. Robin Dimla, RMO Director, along with the center managers, the event aims to enhance its global research visibility, produce high-impact scholarly outputs aligned with global benchmarks and generate research that addresses pressing global challenges.
“Our invited mentors—highly respected leaders in their fields—are instrumental in this process. They do not merely review; they refine. Their intervention guarantees that PSU research is not just "researchable," but globally competitive,” stated Dr. Dimla during the Statement of Purpose.
Throughout the sessions, faculty researchers actively engaged with the mentors, receiving valuable insights and constructive recommendations.
This collaborative process is expected to further refine research frameworks and elevate the overall quality of scholarly outputs produced by the university.
