Solidifying their status as rising innovators, three students from Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) clinched the second-place trophy at the Analyze, Build, and Innovate (HABI) 4.0 Workshop in the event, held in celebration of the 2026 National Innovation Day (NID) in Metro Manila from April 28-29, 2026.
Anchored on the theme “AGOS ASEAN: Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Growth, Opportunity, and Sustainability in ASEAN,” the workshop aimed to recognize outstanding innovators across the region and promote collaboration among government, academe, and industry in finding practical solutions to real-world problems.
Representing the university in the Learning and Education Category were Deo Benedict M. Dizon, Charlott Andrea Carillo, and Stephen Andrei Perillo, supported by Engr. Anna Liza Nacion, Director of the Knowledge Management and Innovation Office, and Engr. Anthony S. Tolentino, Manager of its Intellectual Property Unit.
Their winning entry, titled “Antabe” is an LLM-based mobile application designed to assist general education teachers handling learners with disabilities.
The application serves as an IEP (Individualized Education Program) co-author, an observation-based profiler, and a chatbot assistant specifically for children aged 6–12.
“It's because empowered teachers empower every child. Ang pinaka-goal po is to make an impact. To hear our voice advocating for this stressed overwhelmed teachers that are not supported enough and that are not heard or seen enough,” Carillo shared in an interview.
This achievement highlights Pampanga State U’s growing presence in national innovation platforms and its continued push to develop solutions that address real-world challenges in education and beyond.
