
As part of the preparation for the possible offering of the Bachelor of Science in Data Science (BSDS) program, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel for Information Technology Education and the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) conducted a validation visit to Pampanga State University on May 20, 2026.
The purpose of the on-site evaluation is to optimize the integration of the BSDS curriculum with the CHED’s ACHIEVE framework.
In addition, the RQAT members conducted an ocular visit around Bacolor Campus to inspect the required facilities, equipment, library holdings, and other supporting evidence for the program.
The CHED personnel were welcomed by Enrique G. Baking, university president, alongside Reden M. Hernandez, executive vice president concurrent vice president for administration and finance and vice president for academic affairs, and Ranie B. Canlas, vice president for research, innovation, training, and extension.
Also present during the validation were Joel D. Canlas, dean of the College of Computing Studies (CCS), Philip Doctor, together with selected faculty members, and Dr. Emmanuel Pareño, director of the Quality Management Systems Office.
The members of the technical panel and RQAT were led by John Wesley S. Calagui I, along with Remedios S. Talingdan and Oliver A. Malabanan.
