Advancing campus awareness of emerging energy technologies, the Department of Energy (DOE), in collaboration with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Unit (EECU) of Administrative Services Office and the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), conducted a technical orientation on Alternative Fuels and Emerging Energy Technologies (AFETs), Hydrogen Technology, and Vehicle Fuel Economy Labeling Program Activities at the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center on September 30, 2026.
The orientation equipped CEA faculty members and students with in-depth discussions on alternative fuels, hydrogen development, e-mobility, and vehicle fuel economy labeling.
The activity aimed to complement classroom instruction and strengthen awareness of sustainable energy solutions, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
After the discussion, an open forum was held to allow students and faculty to directly engage with the subject matter experts, raising practical questions on the topics discussed.
Tokens were also given to participants who answered the questions correctly, adding an interactive element to the session and providing participants with additional insights to take home.
Also participating in the activity were personnel from the Transportation Services Unit (TSU), EECU staff and EEC Professionals highlighting a university-wide commitment to sustainable energy and green transport management..
