Setting a powerful tone for youth leadership, Kapampangan content creator Mak Mariano shared his personal journey during the University Student Council’s (USC) event, “From Student to Changemaker: Leading with Purpose in a Changing World.” at the Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) Auditorium on July 31, 2026. 

USC President Missy Ruela C. Cortez opened the event by sharing, “Influence goes far beyond a screen. It is found in the conversations we have, the choices we make, the way we treat people when no one is watching, and the values we choose to uphold every single day.” 

Mak started with a quote, “Balang kasakitan, atin kapalit a kanawan” (For every hardship, there is comfort in return.)

To achieve success, Mak encouraged the students to dream big for themselves and face every trial with confidence and faith in mind. 

Mak emphasized that students should never stop reading and learning, reminding them that every challenge is an opportunity to grow.

He pointed out that long after the spotlight fades and the fleeting nature of fame disappears, what truly endures in the hearts of others is the warmth of a good and genuine heart.

As the event drew to a close, Mak Mariano’s words left a lasting impression on the Pampanga State U community, reminding every aspiring student that true changemakers are defined not by the platform they hold, but by the purpose, resilience, and heart they bring to the world.
