Despite the suspension of face-to-face classes at the Bacolor and Mexico Campuses, as announced by their respective local government units, the University proceeded with its flagraising ceremony on the first Monday of August 2026, as offices remained open for transactions.

The ceremony was attended by members of the University's top management, teaching personnel, and non-teaching staff from various colleges and offices.

John Paul Gania of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) shared this week's Values Advocacy, focusing on the theme of "Compassion."

Through the story of a job applicant who traveled several hours only to be told that his requirements were incomplete, Gania encouraged the audience to practice compassion in every interaction.

"Behind every document is a human story. Behind every transaction is a person," Gania said.

He emphasized that while policies must be observed, they can be implemented with empathy through clear guidance, respect, and understanding, and that public service should go beyond merely following policies and procedures.

The program also included the oath-taking ceremony of newly promoted personnel, administered by Engr. Reden Hernandez, Executive Vice President, concurrent Vice President for Administration and Finance, and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
