Staying true to its commitment to extend expertise and innovation to the community, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), through its Extension Services Office (ESO), organized the “Extension Capability Development Training and Workshop on Effective Planning, Implementation and Assessment of Community Extension Programs” at the University Hostel from March 18 to 19, 2026.
In his welcome remarks, ESO Director Engr. Rhoderick M. Favorito emphasized that the university’s role goes beyond academic instruction, highlighting its responsibility to ensure that knowledge generated within the institution is translated into meaningful actions that benefit communities.
“Your presence in today’s event signifies more than participation in a training activity, it reflects our collective commitment to strengthening the university's social mandate and ensuring that the knowledge we generate within our academic community reaches and benefits the people and communities we serve,”said Engr. Favorito.
Dr. Ranie B. Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training and Extension commended the participants for engaging with the university's extension services.
“The very essence of the existence of State Universities and Colleges apart from providing access to quality education to the marginalized Filipino youth is for us to be able also to be relevant to the community where we are,” Dr. Canlas reminded the participants.
The training team was led by Tarlac State University’s Engr. Emir Lenard SF Sicangco, Director of the Office of University Extension Service, together with Dr. Francelle L. Calub, Head of the Volunteerism Management Department; Aljon N. Lusong, Head of the Department of Extension Services Management; and Jay Ann Laure Pablo, Head of the Publication and Communication Department.
The event was attended by extensionists from various colleges and campuses, alongside ESO staff and members of the Administrative Council.
