Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), through its College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) and Extension Services Office, secured three major recognitions at the 1st Luzon Sustainable Tourism Summit 2026 held at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center on September 9 to 11, 2026.

The University earned 1st Runner-Up in the Sustainable Tourism Leadership Award (SUC Category).

In addition, Pampanga State U’s community-driven initiatives were highlighted during the 2026 Central Luzon STAR Awards Night, with the SEEDS San Pedro Extension Project ranking among the Top 3 Finalists for the Path to Sustainability Award, and the Pamitimun Community Project landing in the Top 5 Finalists for the Community-Based Tourism Legacy Award.

Organized by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) in partnership with the Department of Tourism Region 3 under the theme, "Innovate, Integrate, Inspire: Redesigning Sustainable and Resilient Tourism through Digitization.”

The three-day summit gathered tourism educators, government partners, industry experts, community advocates, and academic institutions across Luzon to promote responsible and future-ready tourism.

Representing the University at the summit were CHTM Program Chairpersons Santa L. Merle and Jeaneth D. Serna, alongside CHTM Extension Services Coordinator Alvin John Villanueva and CHTM-Occupational Safety and Health Office Coordinator Janelle B. Cruz.
