Honoring the educators who serve as students’ “second parents,” faculty members from all colleges, departments, and satellite campuses of Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) gathered at the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center for a university-wide World Teachers’ Day celebration on October 5, 2026.
Anchored on the theme, “Teacher, Ikaw Naman! Nurturing Teacher Well-Being, Inspiring Better Learning,” the event was organized by the Don Honorio Ventura State University Faculty Association (DHVSU-FA), with assistance from students of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM).
DHVSU-FA President Mike Haizon David emphasized the profound impact teachers have on shaping students’ futures.
“Teaching is more than sharing knowledge. It is about giving hope, building confidence, and helping our students believe in what they can become,” David shared.
“Every lesson we teach, every encouragement we give, and every life we touch creates a lasting impact. As teachers, may we continue to teach with passion, serve with compassion, and inspire purpose. Let us always remember, a great teacher may teach for a moment, but the lesson we give can last a lifetime,” he added.
The celebration opened with a lively Roll Call Salvo, where deans and faculty members from each college and campus showcased their dancing skills.
Raffle draws and friendly team competitions were also held as part of the half-day celebration, adding to the festivities and fostering camaraderie among faculty members.
Also present to show their support for the faculty were Executive Vice President Engr. Reden M. Hernandez and Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Dolores T. Quiambao, alongside other members of the Administrative Council.
