Aiming to equip students across the region with knowledge, skills, and mindset in the field of information technology, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) hosted the Regional Assembly on Information Technology (RAITE) 2026 at the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center on October 2, 2026.
The event was organized by Philippine Society Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Central Luzon with the theme: “CTRL + NEXT: Empowering Students as Future-Ready Digital Innovators and Technology Leaders.”
Led by PSITE-Central Luzon President, Dr. Jonilo C. Mababa started the program on a high note by celebrating Teachers’ Day through a dance challenge.
Moreover, delegates from participating universities were welcomed by Dr. Ranie B. Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training and Extension as a representative for University President, Dr. Enrique G. Baking.
Dr. Canlas noted that as technology rapidly evolves, the real question is how it is used, urging students to let moral values and heart guide its integration.
“The ability to use artificial intelligence comes with the responsibility to be honest about how it is used. There's nothing wrong with using these technologies. This is why digital literacy must go hand in hand with digital responsibility,” Dr. Canlas added.
RAITE 2026 has conducted academic and non-academic competitions, e-sports games, and talks that became a venue for students to showcase their skills, share their knowledge, and interact with each other.
Meanwhile, Pampanga State U’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team was declared as the overall champion.
The team was composed of Alexander Braveheart M. Ricardo, Criastian N. Alviz, Luke Daniel F. Roque, Adrian Jarell Galvez, Erschel A. Pangan, and Carly M. Garcia, who was also named the Finals MVP, under Head Coach Jordan Salenga and Assistant Coach Andrei Viscayno.
Meanwhile, Angela G. Danganan and Earl James R. Lugue earned their Information Technology Specialist (ITS) certification in Computational Thinking and were recognized as ITS passers under the coaching of Aileen P. De Leon.
