Gearing toward more efficient and effective client services through digitization, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) will implement its first-ever digitized queuing system after the technical working group formally turned over the project to the frontline offices during a ceremony held at the University Hostel on July 21, 2026.

The offices that will utilize the system are the Office of the University Registrar, the Cashiering Office, and the Accounting Office, all of which are located in Administration Building I.

The system aims to optimize the services offered by the University and minimize long queues during peak hours.

“We may find this activity simple, probably most of us. But actually, this is the start of many more milestones for the University. So apart from our faculty conducting research, this is our simple way of giving back to the University,” said Dr. Ranie B. Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension.

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Canlas referred to the research titled “Human Computer Interaction Analysis of an Ensemble Learning-Based Queuing System,” where became the basis of the project’s framework.

The study was authored by Dr. Canlas together with College of Computing Studies (CCS) faculty Ronnel C. Delos Santos, Reden Paul L. Rivera, Philip I. Doctor, Marcell M. Ventura; Management Information Systems Office personnel, Angelito D. Quito and Nikko P. Nicdao.

“We started this project because we're referring to queues—kung paano natin mapapabilis ang process—because we cannot avoid having queues,” Dr. Canlas stated.

The queuing system is expected to be piloted this year, with further improvements to be implemented based on feedback from employees and clients during the pilot phase.

Present during the turnover ceremony were Dr. Dolores Mallari, university registrar; Dr. Robin Dimla, director of the Research Management Office (RMO), with Engr. Alma Tantiangco, one of the RMO center managers; Engr. Rhoderick Favorito, director of the Extension Services Office; Dr. Eddiebal Layco, director of the Planning and Development Office; Ar. Mair De Lara, director of the Property and Supply Management Office; Joel Canlas, dean of the CCS; along with representatives from the Accounting Office, Cashiering Office, CCS faculty, and Office of the University Registrar.
