To enhance statistical capacity and promote evidence-based decision-making, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), through its Training Services Office (TSO), in collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), formalized its partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Pampanga through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held at The Redd Manor Condotel, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, on April 20, 2026.
Alongside the MOA signing was the rollout of a three-day Basic Statistics training course for local government units (LGUs).
The agreement aims to strengthen the statistical capability of LGUs and other local stakeholders in support of national and local statistical capacity-building initiatives.
As an initial activity under the partnership, the three-day training includes lectures and hands-on sessions designed to equip local officers with essential data handling and analysis skills.
Representing Pampanga State U during the ceremonial signing were CAS Dean Dr. Adonis A. David, along with CAS faculty; TSO Center Manager Aileen P. de Leon; and other TSO staff.
Meanwhile, the PSA was represented by Region III Regional Director, Arlene M. Divino, and Chief Statistical Specialist, Maria Virginia R. Olveña.
