Dr. Elena C. Tesoro, founding dean of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) and currently a graduate school professor and the chairperson of the Master of Science in Social Work program at Pampanga State University, was recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Professional of the Year in the Field of Social Work by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

A spirit of gratitude and reflection filled the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center on August 8, 2025, as Pampanga State University’s graduating class of 2025 gathered for their Baccalaureate Mass.

These remarks were delivered by Dr. Enrique G. Baking, President of Pampanga State University, during the opening program of the three-day training-workshop titled “Creating the Pragmatic Pathways for Lifelong Learners through Micro Credentials,” held at the University Hostel on August 6, 2025.

(Leonio Land) collaborated with Pampanga State University, through its Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension (RITE) office, for initiatives, programs, and services aligned with shared goals of local development and academic advancement, formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Alviera Country Club, Porac, Pampanga, on August 5, 2025.

Continuing its efforts to promote a safe and inclusive academic and work environment, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) organized a seminar on Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the Safe Spaces Act or “Bawal Bastos Law,” for its employees, held at the Dr. Ernesto T. In a move to exemplify the role of science and technology in addressing development challenges, the Department of Science and Technology – Regional Office II (DOST II) visited Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) to explore its Hydraulic Ram (Hydram) Pump Project during a benchlearning event held at the University’s Multipurpose Hall on July 18, 2025.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO-III) awarded Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) a Plaque of Commendation for its achievement in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) during the Luminescence 26: “Glowing with Excellence” banquet held at Nuan’s Farm Resort, Bacolor, Pampanga, on July 17, 2025.

Hailed as the Best Higher Education Institution (HEI) in the 2025 Regional Gawad Kalamidad at Sakuna Labanan, Sariling Galing ang Kaligtasan (KALASAG) Special Awards by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council 3 (RDRRMC3), Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) has been selected to represent the Central Luzon region at the national level.

In line with its commitment to academic excellence and community engagement, Pampanga State University (PampangaStateU), through its Extension Services Office (ESO), formalized partnerships with three institutions in the Municipality of Apalit, Pampanga during a simultaneous signing of a Memorandum of Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding held at the Pampanga State U Apalit Campus on July 2, 2025.

Demonstrating its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and transformative governance, the Pampanga State University (PampangaStateU) Administrative Council, led by University President Dr. Enrique G. Baking, participated in the 2025 Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Midterm Convention and General Assembly held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from July 9 to 11, 2025.

As one of the Philippine universities embracing diverse forms of innovation in today’s educational landscape, Pampanga State University (PampangaStateU), formerly Don Honorio Ventura State University, secured the 338th spot in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2025, under the Global Top 400 Innovative Universities, as announced on the WURI website on July 10, 2025.

In anticipation of the upcoming Institutional Accreditation (IA) of Pampanga State University, the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) conducted a two-day mentoring session and mock survey for Pampanga State University (PampangaStateU) held at the University Hostel on July 7 to 8, 2025.

Dr. Riza B. Lintag, dean of the College of Education (COE) at Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), participated in a 3-day academic and cultural immersion to foster academic cooperation and further internationalization as part of the International Study Tour organized by the Philippine Association of Teachers and Educators - Region III (PAFTE-III) held in Indonesia from June 25 to 29, 2025.

This line from the song “Journey” by Lea Salonga marked a nostalgic moment as the last batch of Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) – Senior High School (SHS) took their final bow and officially received their diplomas during the 8th Commencement Exercises held at the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center on June 30, 2025.

To provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain experience in real corporate situations, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) formalized a partnership with Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the CDC Health and Sanitation Division Training Hall on June 25, 2025.

“We are now Pampanga State University!”

These words unfolded a new chapter in the University’s history as it was officially renamed from Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) to Pampanga State University during the inauguration ceremony held at the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center on June 27, 2025.

Baking participated in the first State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) Executive Forum, hosted by Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) in Dipolog City from June 8 to 11, 2025.

To foster a collaborative research environment in the fields of health, science, and technology, the ABC for Global Health Foundation Inc. (ABC) formalized its partnership with Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing held at the University Hostel on June 18, 2025.

Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) stands united in advocating for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as it enters the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, according to results released today, June 18, 2025.

Demonstrating community support and engagement, Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), through its Office of Admissions, Counseling, and Testing Services (OACTS), took part in the Brigada Eskwela program of Bacolor Integrated School (BIS) by donating school supplies during the Kick-off Ceremony held on June 9, 2025, in Bacolor, Pampanga.

To strengthen professional development and regulatory capacity building, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) during the culminating activity of the 2025 Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month, held at the CDC Health and Sanitation Division Training Hall on May 30, 2025.

To promote academic and cultural exchange through shared ideas, collaborative program development, and strengthened research efforts, Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) formalized partnerships with eight international institutions during the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) Joint Events held at Chardonnay by Astoria, Pasig City, from May 21 to 23, 2025.

Under the bright lights of the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Complex, the Hiraya Theater Production stirred a wave of emotions among Honorian audiences at Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) on May 23, 2025, with their three-show stage play, Sina-Dasal.
